I'd maybe step up a grade if it makes you feel better (I've done it), but oil can't fix an engineering flaw.
That is a Stout engine ! Run what the owner's manual advises !
It's not a design flaw. There wasn't enough rtv applied on some of the engines when they were assembled which can mean a leak on some, obviously. These engines last hundreds of thousands of miles on 0w-20.
Cam towers are sealed using sealant. Oil viscosity will have zero impact on this.
