STP S10590XL USA who made it?

I have these STP XL filters. Made in the USA. It's construction differs from what I am used to seeing. Anyone know who made this? Is it good?

It is made by Champion Labs... seeing that baseplate.

They make the AC Delco oil filters that I've used for years. Same baseplate as the AC Delco.

Looks a lot like a CHAMP baseplate but that isn't a CHAMP filter design.

Oh, ok. I thought that the Champ filters used plastic cages? Seem to remember Super Tech and AC Delco using them?

I haven't opened one so I'm not sure what the media is like this this thing.

If you have a new/Zee Buick Encore the factory filter is made in China. Other GM’s with spin on are E CORE or first brands made

Just took a quick look into this and it actually looks like this is a Champ XL design, i'm used to Champ being Ecore

Yep, not all Champion Labs filters use the eCore center tube.

Looks like louvers, even though it's not in focus. It's definitely not an eCore center tube.
