I'm rebuilding an older Chevy shifter. I have plenty of Amsoil lube grease, and was wondering if it would be better to lube the shifter with this over white lithium? The shifter is all metal parts, and is exposed to the ground. I know you don't mix greases, so I'd be using the lube grease anytime it needed it. Somebody in a past-post suggested using Amsoil Heavy Metal Protector, but that seems a little light duty for me...Any thoughts... Thanks.

Just about any Amsoil grease will be better than generic white lithium.

For what little I have used of the 2000 grease, I have been very impressed with it's "staying power". I ran it under some hot water and it barely noticed it. Most other greases tended to wash away and thin.
