I don't generally use them for parts that could require warranty redemptions (i.e. axle shafts, struts, master cylinders). For those I usually use NAPA or O'Reilly's. I did buy a brand new A/C compressor (Denso brand) for my old Honda, but the warranty was just a year on that and the price was very good.

I have ordered quite a bit a multiples different items from Rockauto and never once had a drop ship from a manufacturer. Not saying they do not do it, just I have not had an experience to think they do it as a normal course of business.
