Provide braking, yes, but together with that and ESP in that will work in snow, they will wear out bit faster.

mimic LSD.
ESP is huge thing. I track BMW, and I can guarantee if I don’t tuen off ESP, I could wear out pads in the rear completely in half track day. Even when I do, BMW uses brakes to mimic LSD, so I would say while I can do 3-5 track days with front track pads, rear are 2 days at maximum!
