1989 Chevrolet C1500

Out: Probably FF (replaced differential with a good used one due to spider gears breaking).

In: Masterpro 80w90.
 
2022 Toyota Tacoma

Out: Valvoline Synthetic 75W-90 w/Lubeguard Diff (22k miles)

Swapped out rear end with a used unit, pulled cover, drained old oil, resealed cover and refilled
Out: unknown oil

2021 Jeep Gladiator, 35,000 miles....., I changed both ends.

Out....Likely the factory fill (I just bought this truck) Rear looked ready to change, but not a severe amount of shavings on the drain plug magnet. The front looked new, and had the expected amount of shavings. I've got much experience with these diffs with my JL, so I had an idea of what to expect. It was no more than I've seen on my 20k or 30k changes on the JL with the Dana M210 and M220. I don't think this truck was run hard or towed anything, at all. That's about to change!

In.....Valvoline synthetic 75w140, again, both ends. Dana doesn't care about CAFE, so they recommend 75w140. I love the bags, btw. Thanks Amsoil for coming up with this idea, or at least influencing Valvoline with it.

Next up will be the transfer case, which will get some new ATF+4, either Supertech or Valvoline. I do not think this truck has seen 4wd often, at all, so this is just for my peace of mind and to establish the maintenance baseline. That's going to change, too. This thing will see some heavy off-roading in its future!

2016 HR-V

Out: Honda dual pump II

In: Ravenol DPS Fluid

Called two dealers and was told fluid was back ordered.

I’ve got a bad humming noise from the diff area when driving at speeds of 50-75 miles / hour.

Curious as to your thoughts on this. Wife has a 2014 CR-V with 148??k Miles. Would be interested in knowing if this is as good or better than OEM fluid.
 
2023 Challenger SXT, factory fill out with 500 miles. In Redline 75W85 gear oil. Wife's Charger SXT will be next. 38K on Redline 75W85, which will go back in. 2022 RAM Classic 1500 8K on Redline 75W110. Gunna take a while before it gets changed again.

It's tough to figure out if it's better as the noise ended up being a mount. My new mechanic said problems are rare with Honda differentials so if true, OEM should be up to the task.

The first line from the product sheet suggests it might be better:

Only thing I've noticed is the pour point is lower

Didn't realize it at the time but there's actually a 3rd alternative. Not only does it have a similar pour point to ravenol but it's cheaper than the other choices (in Canada) and can be found locally at NAPA:

Edit: after looking up pour points in the forum search, looks like it's not a great indicator.

I agree. Hard to tell if it is going to be any better then OEM. Thanks for the info.
