I got a case of these on sale for $1.36 ea. Looks to be well made. Can is very thick. I cant dent it by squeezing it even after I cut it open.

Element has metal end caps and are glued with a black rubber like stuff. I cant tear the caps off w/o the paper ripping. Has the Purolater string.

Interesting bypass valve spring.

I thought the string was only on the 'longer' Purolator made oil filters.

I would guess the string applies to the wide filters too.
