My '94 LS400 has more than 260k miles now, it used 1/2 quarts of oil every 3-4k miles since new, the last 30-40k miles it seems to burn 1/2 quarts every 2-3k miles.

My 98 Camry V6 with 205k burns maybe half a quart per 5-7k OCI.

I could basically not add any at all for the duration of the run since i fill her up to the top dot every time.

93 c1500 chevy truck, 4.3L, about 1 qt/ 5k miles (220k miles)

01 blazer, .5qt/5k miles ( 195k miles)

My '97 Nissan truck (2.4 liter 4-cylinder) with 216,000 miles doesn't seem to burn any over the course of 6,000-7,000 mile intervals.

same engine as well
Yes, I have a 4.3 in a chev pickup. 250K miles using about the same amount. Those are bullet proof engines. John--Las Vegas.

2001 honda civic EX. 267,000 miles. Burns about 1 qt in 5000 miles using any 5w-30 synthetic oil. Brand doesnt seem to matter. Uses the most on highway driving. Still runs like new.

My '95 Ford Ranger with a 2.3L Lima engine and a 5-speed manualhas 200k and has been revved high daily and burns near nothing.

Used Mobil 1 5W-30 and then later 0W-30 on 5k changes.

I had an '87 Honda Accord LXi with a 5-speed manual that I got rid at 305k and it used maybe 4 oz of oil per 4000 mi changes of Mobil 1 5W-30. This car was revved hard and ran in autocross for 10 years. Very entertaining driving.

Is that due to the oil shearing out of viscosity grade? That would cause me to adjust my interval such that that wouldn't happen.

My 05 Civic with 215000 miles doesn't use any amount detectable on the dipstick in 5k miles with Valvoline 5W20 bulk.

Oil dipstick reads full between 5000 mile changes.
