Sorry to bring back an old thread.

If I like to blend PP xW20 with M1 0W40 at a ratio of 70-75% PP 25-30% M1 to have a light xW30, which is better PP 0W20 or 5W20 ?

I tried searching for latest PP 5W20 PDS but could not find it. The PP 0W20 has very good Noack number but a little low on VI.

TIA

Wouldn't it be better to use M1 0w20 to blend with their 0w40?

I agree.

I had been mixing M1 0W20 with 0W40 to use in E430 and S2000 (with different ratio). Since I have few quarts PP 0W20 and 5W20, I wonder which one is better in blending with M1 0W40.

I also have some PU 5W20, and I intend mixing it with M1 0W40 to make either light xW30 or heavy xW20 depends on the ratio.

Gotcha, it's a 'use up stash' project.

I'd go with the 0w20, for viscosity alone and no other reason. I don't have the VI/HTHS/MRV/CCS in front me of, so I could be completely wrong

You got it, it's a 'use up stash' project.

I got a good stash of various name brand xW20: M1 0W20, PU 5W20, PP 0W20 and 5W20, Castrol 5W20 ... and M1 0W40.

I'm trying to see which blend to use in which car.

I just blended PP 0w-20 w/ Formula Shell 10w/40 1:1 for a heavy 30 11.3/66.2 in today's use-up-the-stash Silverado 5.3 oil change. Was going to go 60/40 or 2:1 for a lighter mix, but planning a doing a seafoam or kroil cleanup at the end of the OCI so I went a bit on the heavy side.
