This is a Microguard taken of my son's 2000 ford focus zx3. He ran the filter several months, I don't know the mileage. I think the oil is castrol 5w20. He primarily drives a lot of short trips to and from work, but not very much hiway driving. I messed up the bottom of the filter element a little getting it out. I thought this filter is very well made, and held up well. The base plate is very thick and sturdy, and the rest of it was impressive to me. I would run these without any reservations.

Forgive my ignorance but does this filter have two bypass mechanisms? I have seen the style on the dome end like a Fram, but what is at the threaded end? Usually it is one or the other.

its does?! im lost here also.

The only bypass I see is the white plastic insert in the leaf spring.

This is one of those weird filters that has a typical Fram bypass in the dome, and two adbv's. One is the standard nitrile adbv and the other is a mechanical spring loaded adbv in the base end of the centertube. Been discussed here before but not often as it is a unique application.

As for the OP's MG, it is Fram made filter that is now superseded by the new Champ made MG's.

Unusual application spec's, interesting. Looks good, as mentioned above pre-ecore Microguard.

As always, thanks for cutting and posting!
