The Mobil 1 M1-206 or the Napa Gold 1522?

It's bolled down to these two filters for my next oil change. Money is not an issue. The plan is to use the thicker German Castol (Gold) 0w30 synthetic in my 2001 5.3 Silverado here in So. Cal. Then follow up with a UOA in 4-5k miles.

With 29k miles, there has been no "cold start knock" issues with my truck- it runs like a champ.

I've elminated the PureOne filter, Amsoil, and other worthy filters due to the bottom-end style by-pass valve.

After two weeks of researching filters, I'm still undecided. Any comments?

I'm no expert, but if I remember correctly--
all GM engines have their bypass valve on the engine itself, NOT the oil filter.

All those filters you just excluded... should now be included.

So all of the PF59 equivalents do not have a bypass valve? I will consider the Pure One, Amsoil, and others.

Thanks,
