HY GARD Fluid

Is there an equivalent substitute for HYGARD J20D transmission oil? I imagine my local Deere dealer will want twice as much as I want to pay. Looks like my GT235 lawn tractor needs around .5 gallons for a change and maybe it's just as easy to get the OEM. But I thought I'd ask.

Most all the oil co,panies make the proper rated oil .

the deere fluids are very competitively priced, their thinking is if you buy their equipment and use their fluids it will keep down warrenty claims using non-compliant fluids

There are lots of competitive fluids that are just as good or better.

I got a gallon at the Deere dealer. Absolutely well priced. I was mildly surprised.
