I guess it could be easier to get a foot on the brake than a finger on the clutch. Probably easier to modulate as well.

But when tire catches you're outta there. So you are too late. And rolling on while you're sliding would just seem to get it even more out of line. Now you are too early. Is there a perfect second somewhere?
