Depending on the metals involved (steel wheels or alloy? iron brake hat or aluminum?) I've put anti-seize around the hub ring and sometimes on the hat around the mating surfaces. Just last year I switched to using marine grade anti-seize (no metals) and I believe I'm seeing better results for wheels and other brine-exposed areas.
