Would this be a good company to invest in their stock?
Does XOM sell anything that's good or really profitable? I wonder? Seems over the years they made some pretty smart moves. Just thinking out loud, I'm not looking for a flame war.
lots of oil companies are now shredding their retail business to focus on the exploration and refining side of the company. with every station on the block competing with one another on gas prices down to the last penny, my guess is there just isn't much money to be made there.
Looks like they are exiting lower margins on the volume that is dwindling in favor of higher margins on the volume they project growing. They may just swap Japan for China/India, who knows? Only time will tell..
