Does my 4200 inline 6 in my new Trailblazer have a ADBV built in like most modern GM motors? Reason I asked is I change the oil for the first time tonight at 1k miles. The stock AC Dolco PF61 DID NOT have a ADBV in it at all. None. The Napa Gold I changed it out with DID have one. Not that it needed it if the 4200 has one built in. This is a 7qt sump and I filled it with 5/30 M1SS. This motor is ice smooth man. Nice motor. Rev happy though. Which is fine. It recieved a firm but not abuseive break in Thanks for the input in advace on the built in ADBV question.

No engines have the ADBV built into the block, it's the bypass valve you're thinking about, as that is what is built into the block on GM engines.

Hmmm...I think nomenclature...

No the difference is that you said ADBV and he said Bypass.

I think that the 06 are going to do away with this feature in the GM engines. I wonder why they waited so long
