Giugiaro and his influence on car design

Giugiaro also designed a lot of Alfa Romeo`s, like mine 159 :)
He did many curvy and classic designs. But my thread was about the wedge shape and origami design that started a massive trend. Obviously many people failed to realize that or the topic would not have mostly become about "cars I consider ugly." I think there's already a topic like that.

And the designer of my favorite car ever, the first generation Lotus Esprit. Just haven't found the right one...

The S1 has the cleanest looking design one of all the Esprits. The too-little-power problem was addressed with the Esprit Turbo in 1980. The Esprit is probably the only sports car I like in bright white. The Esprit had an 18-year production run.

The 1980 Audi Ur-Quattro design was certainly influenced by previous Giugiaro designs but like the Scirocco MK2 it drifted away from the very clean and sharp lines and incorporated more rounded elements. The vehicle was also narrow and relatively tall but it does retain many of the design cues seen in the wedge and origami designs.
