Blackstone's comments
Copper and silicon read high in this sample, though that's not exactly a surprise for a generator that
is as new as this one is. Copper is probably some residual wear-in metal that has yet to wash out of the
engine, and silicon is probably from factory sealers and sand-casted parts. The viscosity was fine, and no
fuel, water, coolant, or other contamination was found. The TBN of 7.6 shows active additive left. Since
neither the copper nor the silicon appears harmful, you could leave this oil in use a little longer before you
change it.

Anyone have any thoughts or comments? I had this oil in for 11 1/2 months and plan to change it in a couple weeks. Figured I can use what I can save in my OPE.

A friend is a tech for Generac and often does PMs for customers. He uses M1 5-30 and changes it once a year. What you are doing looks good.
