I believe they are made by Purolator. Most likely similar to a Premium Plus with a slightly cheaper filter media like the Advance Auto Parts Total Grip filter. Still a quality, very well constructed filter.

Drew, I'm not so sure I would assume that from the post you linked to. It sounded to me like it was just speculation by some Honda service writer (and we all know how much dealerships know about oil and filters...

I thought Firestone filters were always made by Purolator, but I could be wrong this time...it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Firestone filters are built by Champion labs. I know that because I often sorted them at a Tires Plus store, and on the side of every 12 pack, it said "Champion Labs."

That in mind, I don't know how good they are. One filter, called the 2876 was half the size of the OE filter it replaced. The 2876 fits several Nissan, Hyundai, Honda, and Mitsubishi cars.

True, went to Tires Plus/Tire Kingdom today and they use same numbering just different letters but gave me the correct, 2808. Lancer can also use 2876 but is much smaller. Both are non ecore and good filters though.
