I am trying to decide on a general purpose grease for farm, automotive and ATV use. Admittedly my knowledge of greases is still pretty low. We currently use Exxon Unirex EP 2 as it is locally available from ESSO. Can anyone look at the provided information and compare it to some other popular general purpose greases? I have compared it to Schaeffers 274 and was suprised to see that Unirex had a lower water washout at 3.0 compared to 5.0. What would some benefits be of switching over to a Mustic JT6 or a Schaeffers 221 or other popular general purpose grease? Would Unirex be suited for wheel bearings in farm equipment, trailers, or vehicles considering they are frequently exposed to water, mud, dust, etc.
