It was conducted from April to October, with an oil change of Edge 0w40 in between.

So, if I understand correctly, 0W30 was April to October, 0W40 was October to April, and 5W40 was April to October again?

Yup, took it to the dealership and they changed it without issue. The receipts say nothing untoward about viscosity either. That being said, I've only used 0w twice and will most likely stick with 5w or 10w oils as you intimate. Don't want to fudge around with my warranty.
