There was a discussion awhile back about military issued CLP...

I found this from a MD AR-15 site:

Remington Nitro CLP is the RoyCo 634 version of CLP.

Yes, the Remington Nitro / Royco is the newer mil-spec CLP that doesn't contain PTFE/Teflon.

Personally, I've never had a problem with CLP in the barrel.

However, Militec-1 does appear to lubricate the parts better and not attract dust/dirt as much as CLP. It doesn't have as good of corrosion protection as CLP though.

I buy CLP at Walmart for $3.87/aerosol can. I don't think I can get it cheaper anywhere else...

Breakfree CLP may be the stuff used by the military but I am finished using it. This is the second time I had ramming using Breakfree. Currently I am using gun grease (TW25B). But it would be nice finding a dry lube for the slides that will not attract dust and that will work in all weather conditions.

TW-25B doesn't seem to have good corrosion protection.

I'm going to try Slip 2000 and FP-10 and compare with CLP and militec-1.
