Chevy full floating axle

I'm trying to visualize this but having a little trouble.....At times I need to see & touch it physically :)

Maybe apply some preload to the bearings, Slide the axle in (Clean flanges) & see it the axle sits on the hub flange square......Even tough you'd think the axle would just run crooked (Maintain the bend caused by a tweaked housing)

What about something in the diff carrier/side gear, Too bad you can't easily access the side gear because the closed carrier on 10.5 corporate diffs.
Chris -
considering that AAM builds axles for other companies - is there something unique to AAM units coming underneath various brands ?

For the longest time the only AAM engineered diff GM used was the 11.5" coupled with Allison 1000 transmissions. The 8.5/8.6, 9.5 & 10.5 are GM/Saginaw designs manufactured by AAM after a buyout of the Saginaw Division.

AAM engineered a 10.5" diff just for Chrysler, Kind of a smaller version of the AAM 11.5".

The Chrysler AAM 9.25" front diff is based off the GM 9.5".
