Changed the oil in the Audi to Mobil1 0w-40, changed the tires to summer tires and the winter is over...

The MPG change has been from expected average of 22 MPG to expected average of 30 MPG for the past few weeks. At $4.30 per gallon, this is a welcome improvement. I think the biggest factor is the change from German Castrol to Mobil1 because last year, with the same tires and during summer, with the same driving pattern, I would manage at most 24 MPG.

And the tires...right? or is he saying it's all the oil? I wasn't sure to which factor the OP is ascribing the dramatic shift...
