In the past I have used a turkey baster to remove power steering fluid or brake fluid. But have found I usually make a mess. The other day I was at Menard's and checked out the automotive section. They carry a bulb type battery filler. So I bought one and tried it out. The tube is more narrow so it can fit into the cell of a battery and the bulb is larger then a turkey baster bulb so it holds more. It works faster then a turkey baster and does not make a mess. With it being acid resistant I figure it should also last longer. Just thought I would mention it.

50-60 ml enema syringe.

Also bleeds brakes, but if you're using it on PS fluid keep a separate one for that. The oil may attack the piston rubber, and you don't want any of it in your brake system.

This would apply to your battery bulb too.

I've never tried a syringe with battery acid, because I've never had to add or remove battery acid, but it would probably work.

For big jobs, get an oil suction syringe
