BALLISTOL - WHAT'S IN IT?

It's been around for 90 or so years, says it contains mineral oil, the Germans used it but I can't find other chemical information.

Works great on pistols.

I once fried an egg with Neo Ballistol. The oil added a hideous fennel flavor.

It is a water soluble oil that much I know. I believe the company claims that it can be used as a black powder solvent due to its being slightly alkaline in nature. I suspect it can be used as an ingredient in moose milk to lube patches used in black powder arms.
