Ok, I just feel bad that so many people are bad-mouthing the Big 3.

For the fans of the Big 3, Let's talk!!! PLease, NO BASHING OR DEBATING IN THIS THREAD!!!

What is your favorite NEW American car? How long have you owned American and what kind of cars did you own? What future vehicle will you buy?

My favorite new American cars are the: 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T, Lincoln MKS with ECOBOOST, Ford Taurus SHO, Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette.

On the American side, I've own a Ford Escort and I did own a 1993(?) Pontiac Bonneville.

In the Future I want to buy a Chevrolet Cruze, if I find a better job I want a Ford Taurus SHO.

I love my 2007 Mustang GT. I also think Ford hit one out of the park with the new SHO. I think that this is the best lineup of cars & trucks that Ford has ever had.

^^ I agree, Ford hit the Jackpot with the New Taurus. The current and last generation mustangs are super nice.

I get in on the big 3 bash every now and then, even though I drive a GM now, and have owned a GM before, and 2 Chryco's too. I just don't like most of the current stuff EXCEPT:

Challenger SRT
Newest Dodge Ram pickup ([censored] truck)
Chevy Malibu
Cobalt SS turbo

2010 Mustang w/ Track Pack
Camaro SS
Corvette
Dodge Viper (this one I might actually buy if I could)

If we're counting recent-but-defunct cars, I have to add the Pontiac G8 GXP 6MT.

I have never owned an American car, and have no idea if I ever will in the foreseeable future. I just believe in giving credit where it is due.

Favorite current....

Cobra GT500
Taurus SHO
Challenger
Corvette
G8 GXP

Past cars....Too many to list...a few favorites
03 SVT Cobra Sold
02 SVT Focus Sold Probably one of the funnest cars I've ever owned
78 Vette Still around, running with less HP than my Jeep TJ...the seventies were cruel to car lovers.
06 Holden(Pontiac) GTO Regardless of what everyone says about the Goat, that car is solid as a tank and the engine is a dream.
Any year Jeep CJ/TJ if I could own only one ride the TJ would be my choice.

I've had some foreign cars as well. Bought used in my younger years, my 74 Bug was great. Everyone should get a chance to run around in a vacant car lot in a bug after a big snow storm, the absolute best donut car ever.

Love my Dodge Ram.
Dodge Challenger is simply awesome.

Taurus looks like a hit...I'll take an SHO, please.
The Lincoln lineup looks spectacular...FINALLY some product differentiation.

Not a huge GM fan, but the Malibu and Camaro look to be great cars. And of course the Corvette and G8.

Does the Euro Focus count? :D

I am a big 3 guy. My one real forray out to the foreign brands( 2005 Toyota Tacoma )was a disaster.

I currently drive a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 QC SLT 4WD w/ 5.7L. Excellent vehicle.

Here are all the new vehicles I have owned...

1988 Dodge Ram 50 Sport 4WD( Mitsubishi I know - had some issues but not too bad )
1994 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie RCLB 2WD 5.2L
1997 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT RCSB 4WD 5.9L
2001 Dodge Ram 1500 SPORT RCSB 4WD 5.9L
2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT QC 4WD 4.7L
2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT QC 4WD 5.7L
2005 Toyota Tacoma DC SR5 4WD 4.0L( as said = lemon )
2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS EC 4WD 5.3L
2007 Chevy Silverado(NBS) 1500 1LT EC 4WD 5.3L
2008 Chevy Equinox 1LT AWD 3.4L
My current Ram mentioned above...

What do I like that is out there...

Current( 06-09 )Chevy Impala( if I was after a car this would be it hands down )
The new 2010 Chevy Equinox
Current Jeep Patriot
The new( 09+ )Dodge Ram
The new Dodge Challenger
The new Ford Taurus

The Chrysler 300. Still nothing like it (from a styling or engineering standpoint) offered by any other domestic car maker.

Here's a pic of mine that I've had a month now:

Ford is the only one of the Big 3 I would buy from. I really like the new Fusions, and looking forward to the Fiesta.

GM and Chrysler can both die a horrible death (hopefully without more of my tax-money).

I thought the 81 Pontiac Phoenix and the 92 Grand Am were good cars, and I am very happy with the 02 Cavalier I now have 160k on with very little repairs.

However, GM will never be the same with the idiots in Washington running it.

i would purchase a dodge ram, jeep wrangler, ford f-150, chevrolet silverado. i like trucks, not much into passenger cars.

I've owned several new american cars all were good.
91 GMC Sonoma 2.5l 5speed
94 Dodge Dakota 5.2l Auto
96 Dodge Ram 5,2l 5speed
All were very good and reliable.

Current Vehicals are.
09 Dodge Charger 5.7 Hemi This is my favorit of all so far.
08 Dodge Caravan 3.8 6speed auto
00 Chrysler Sebring 2.5 v6

I've had a few imports also. I was not impressed by either one.
99 suzuki vitera
96 Nissan Sentra

Living in the Motor City, it's natural for myself and others to love American cars. Besides keeping myelf and my friends employed, nearly everyone in my circles of friends and colleagues get discounts on new cars. This also makes used cars cheaper. And it seems that everyone in the area knows American cars, their peculiarities, and how to fix them properly. Even the ladies take an interest in making sure their cars are maintained properly.

That said, I've never been an import basher because I'm keenly aware of the globality of the automotive business.

I've owned strictly American and have never had a vehicle that I've absolutely hated or had ridiculous problems with. I guess I must have been the person that got the one good Detroit vehicle made in the years 1975, 1979, 1980, 1989, 1999, 2002, and 2009....

I love the Cobalt as it's great at what it does. As of my last drive, the DIC is telling me my average MPG is 30.0, and this includes stints of chirping the drive wheels and using the turbo boost more than I should.

If I have to pick an overall favorite, right now it'd be my 1989 GMC S-15 Jimmy 4x4. Great hauler, reliable up until the very end, and very handy for the snow when I lived in Northwest Indiana's "Lake Effect" snowbelt. At 160,000 miles between the rust and some other minor problems, it was easier to justify the Dakota with 0% financing over the cost of the repairs. But I miss that truck.

Been buying Ford vehicles since the Model A (my family).

Currently have three in the stable here.

If I could buy new:

1. Fusion SE AWD for my wife

I think this is the best mid-sized car available in its price range. We've had two as rentals and loved both of them.

2. 2010 Shelby GT500

The Mustang has continued to impress and appeal to a broad demographic.

My favorite new car is the Challenger. However, I need FWD for the winter. I have all GM cars now.
2008 Colorado
2004 Impala
2008 Malibu (wife's car)

I've owned domestics since 1982. Before, I had a 1980 Datsun p/u and Volkswagen bugs. At about that time, I began to realize the importance of domestic industries, as that's when the steel industry collapsed in the Pittsburgh area.
