Marie Curie carried radioactive samples in her pockets. Her remains are still radioactive - and they were moved and stored in a lead coffin. Her original papers are also still stored in lead and considered too contaminated to handle still.

Marie Curie's cause of death was X-ray exposure, due to the exposure of X-rays from the unshielded X-ray machines she operated in WW1.
