I am hooking up my new plasma cutter. It came with its own regulator and filter. I have a spare air hose that I cannot remember if I ever used with air that would have had oil in it. Will the filter remove any oil that might still be in the hose? Should I not chance it and get a new air hose for clean air.

Get a new air hose for this, use the air hose only with the plasma cutter. If they state that clearly (and you must have read that just by asking the question, but then again you may be just wanting to prevent any problems) I would be leery of any chance. A new air hose dedicated to the plasma cutter will not be much money anyway, and money aside it will make it easier by having a dedicated air hose... enjoy !!

I would think its difficult to remove all the traces of oil out of the hose. The filter will probably filter it out but given the cost of air hose i would probably get a new one and change the fitting type so it can never be plugged into you oil/air fittings.
