Blackstone analysis of my brother's Honda CB300F.
Bought new with 10 miles. Previous oil changes done at 600 miles and 4000 miles, all with GN4. Maintenance interval from Honda is 8k miles.
Crankshaft recall was performed at 4000 miles after which the bike exhibited audible rod knock at idle. I own a similar bike, 2011 CBR 250R, that makes no such noises. The 300 bike was also smooth prior to the recall work.
Blackstone did not point out anything unusual and no metallic flakes were visible in this oil used from 5k to 6k miles. It performed well otherwise but has since been traded in on a Triumph to avoid any future problems with this bike.
