1964 Ford Falcon

My next door neighbor has a 64' Falcon that him and his son restored years ago. It's built from the ground up. Its got a straight axle front-end with either a built 302 or 351 engine.

My friend's father bought a new '64 Falcon Futura 2 door hardtop in dark blue metallic. A very sharp car.

For some reason I was along on the car buying trip and got to ride in the back seat for the 3 hour drive home. It was kind of cramped back there.

It had a straight 6 cylinder engine and an automatic transmission.

My Aunt had a 63. She won it at the grand opening of a shopping mall. A helicopter flew over and dropped a bunch of ping pong balls. She got one that had a mark on it and turns out it was the winner of the new ford falcon. They drove that little basic car for many years and miles.

i learned to drive in my grampa’s red 1962 ford falcon on new england back roads. my aunt, more like my big sister in temperment and age, would accompany me with a smoke and spiked coke. i miss them all, people, car and that era.
