You're right, you can't know for certain. You also can't know for certain if the filter that's on your vehicle right now is or is not bypassing. You go with what you're comfortable with.
Haha, yeah but if I'm using one oil filter for a less than 10k OCI and it goes into bypass, I have a whole 'nother problem...like where am I going to get the new engine and how much is it going to cost me!
