Mobil 1 15w-50 Mileage Rating Reduced

I've never actually checked..... just typing those words is odd for me! Our snow just melted about 2 weeks ago, so mowing won't happen for another 2 or 3 weeks. I'll report back. I have an old Exmark from the mid 1990s with 1900 hours and a 60" deck. The hydraulic reservoir says specifically...

Mobil 1 15w-50 Mileage Rating Reduced

I run M1 15w-50 in my air cooled small engines. My 27HP kohler in the z-turn gets at least 15k miles and hasn't blown up in 25 years. . .

Mobil 1 15w-50 Mileage Rating Reduced

Apparently too many engines blew up at the 15k interval.... so now it's 10k.

    First Tesla purchase turning sour.

I think age and charging habits play a large role in battery life.

    First Tesla purchase turning sour.

What would your expectations be if you bought an 11 year old cordless drill? Maybe 25% battery capacity would be my expectations

Who do you think made this Beck/Arnley timing belt?

I completely get that. I'm very frugal as well, however a TB is not something I'm willing to guess on, same for all the fluids in a vehicle when I buy it (used). All gets changed and I know what I have and go from there. Honestly $200 is very cheap insurance. Unless I have a dealer or...

Non ethanol gas at gas station

I run E10 in my zero turn, snowmobile, antique car, etc when in season. No trouble, but I always do the last 2 tanks of the season with E0 for storage. I used to be on the E0 is a scam boat as well. That was until I opened my Autolite 2150 carb on my 1959 Ford. I had rebuilt it the year prior...

    The problems with GDI

That was the reason I bought a Pentastar.

New Dorman oil filter housing/oil cooler installed on 2014 Durango

It still surprises me that Stilantus doesn't make an aluminum replacement. Seems like easy money upselling that. And obviously putting it on their new Pentastars, but we all know why that doesn't happen. Does the Dorman come with that orange cap? Is it all an exact replica of the OE plastic...

I sure do miss cheap oil.

Yeah, we get micro-robots in the oil now. For some reason many seem to evaporate and fly out the PCV more than thru did in the $0.49 days....

Non ethanol gas at gas station

I used this, it's worked well for 2 years so far. Does exactly what you want. about a 5 second "prime" when powered up, and connects to the coil or anything that pulses. As long as there is a pulse about every 1 second the contacts remain closed. It's epoxy filled.

Non ethanol gas at gas station

Most stations that carry E0 here in northern Maine are about $1 more/gallon. I use it for small engines OPE. As well as for storage of seasonal vehicles/equipment during the off season. I've opened up too many carbs to find water/goo in them. This is a mechanical fuel pump from a GM gasoline...

How accurate is the indicated MPG in your vehicle?

2020 RAM ProMaster is usually about ½-1 MPG optimistic.

My son just bought an all electric Mustang Mach E GT

Funny you should say that, this is my first year (1959) Galaxie

My son just bought an all electric Mustang Mach E GT

    It wasn't a V6.... the 1964 (often called a 1964½) mustang was avaliable with anything from a 170ci inline 6 the a HiPo 289ci V8. Of course it would be a Mustang, however I just prefer a V8. And I'm a FWD VW guy!

    Auto parts commercial accounts

We have NAPA, O'Reilly, AAP, and AutoZone locally. NAPA and AAP are the only 2 I ever use. AZ and O'Reilly, are just full of kids and prices are sometimes 2x what NAPA is. Our NAPA was locally owned and was Auto Value for many years. It was bought out by NAPA a few years ago. NAPA seems to have...
