You might have to drive a little more if you want to clean this engine up. Follow the advice above concerning Valvoline and HPL Ec30. It will clean things up but only if you drive and move it through the system. A 20 min engine flush isn’t the way to do it.

I’d be surprised if you need new pads and rotors. Double check when you get home and take a photo through the view hole on the caliper.

Why would you put magnets inside the filter, near the oil holes, which pump out 30-50PSI? They might move and plug one of the filters oil holes.

Thanks for the reply. If I’m a betting man I’d say your engine is clean clean clean. Probably no reason for HPL. However, I’d add a 1/2qt of the HPL for the full 5k and sleep well. I’d use the second 1/2qt at the next OCi.

What year is the vehicle and how long have you owned it?

Well, because you’re adding oil regularly and the engine is showing its age.

HarryJ, I love your post about your high mileage civic. This was a little more than 4 months. Why not run it a full 10k and see the results?

It’ll still run to 100-200k…..even with this fuel dilution before giving out. And manufacturers know this. Unfortunately we expect more.
