    Here's what Pennzoil says about blending....

    trust me my friend, i have mixed many different type of oil from Castrol, amsoil, Toyota OEM, shell & etc... all were left over oil from the previous change... sometime, the mixture can be leftover from 4 to 5 different brand and yet, my dad's Nissan Sunny last us for 20 over years.

    "complex mixtures of additives and base oils that can be destabilized" i almost fall from my chair when i read this statement.... engine oil is know to be so stable that mother nature needs decades n decades to break it down.... by mixing 2 or more type of oil can make it unstable? LOL

    Does anyone run 20wt in a car spec'd for 30wt?

    Im also driving a yaris, no issue running with 5w20 oil where the recomended thinest oil is 10w30 in my country (tropical country) been runing on 5w20/ 0w20 for more than 100k miles.. no sign of leakage or unusual noise frm the engine.

    OCI recomendation by manufacturer...

    I notice that car manufacturer recomended different OCI for different country? Toyota Yaris, for instance, was recomended OCI of ~6000 miles (10000km) while the OCI recomended in US is higher? is it because of different in climate (Im staying in tropical country)? or any other possible reason?

    There is no recycling centre in my country that collect used oil filter... only used oil recycler... I tried my best to drain off the oil by leaving the oil filter upside down for months before i threw it off to the garbage bin. which i feel very guilty as i know im gg contanminate the ground...
