    The Safest Car in America?

Well, some accidents are unavoidable. I was in an accident where the other driver fell asleep and hit me head on. I had nowhere to go and it happened so fast I couldn't react. Nice to know an American car that starts in the mid 20K's is the safest on the road.

    Why I buy American

Walmart actually at one time insisted on sourcing American products. What happened was a result of trade policies. That's what needs to be changed. There is no way we can ever compete with cheap foreign labor and there will never be a shortage of it. Sooner or later, we will have to protect our...

GM hour meter and actual mileage

My 2010 Peterbilt truck with the Cummins 550 had the ECM replaced and the hour meter went to zero, but the mileage remained the same.

    My Ford dealership story

I see Ford still has their issues. I don't mean to bash Ford, but I bought my last one (new) in 1987 and was such a bad experience I switched to GM and Chrysler. I still would give Ford another chance before I would even consider an import, though. I have done a lot of mechanical work and GM n...

Looking for opinions on a car to modify

You wouldn't believe the difference of looking for a car in the south rather than near Allentown. Some don't have any rust and are 20 years old. You could search Auto trader and use the Richmond, VA zip (23230) and try to get a rust free car.

Impressed with Ford Fusion gas mileage

Sometimes the weight and engine size defies all logic as to what mileage a car will get.I have a 3.4 Impala that consistently gets 34 mpg on a trip. That's about the same as a compact car, but with the safety and comfort as a fullsize. Also the V-6 power is there if you need it.

    The Ford Focus

I work with a guy who bought a new Focus the same time as I bought a 2002 Cavalier. The Cavalier has never been to the shop for anything but maintenance. The Focus had a few issues, but they weren't major. Overall, I would recommend it or the Cav from the same time period.

    Car Recommendation

Another alternative to run flat tires or carrying a spare is a little electric pump and a plugging kit. I have never had a flat that couldn't be fixed with a plug (not saying it's impossible to shred a tire but unlikely).
