    5w-40 recommendation for 392 HEMI

Went to Advanced Auto Parts and they had Castrol Edge with SPT 5w40 on sale so I picked up enough for two oil changes. After rebates it comes out to about $5.80 per quart. Any reason not to go with the Castrol? I don't beat the living pi$$ out of the car on a daily basis but do like to get on it...

New Dodge 392 Hemi Takes 5W40

Thanks for all the input folks. I just double checked both the 2012 User's Guide and the Owner's Manual by downloading the latest version of both from the Dodge web site and the guide still shows 5w-40 and the manual 0w-40 so I am just going to probably go with what is available/on sale at the...

    5w-40 recommendation for 392 HEMI

Nice and confusing messages from Chrysler. The full color user guide for the car shows this; API Certified SAE 5W-40 full synthetic engine oil, API Certified. The Owner's Manual shows this; (which is in line with what you said addyguy) 6.4 Liter Engine (SAE 0W-40, Synthetic API Certified)...

    5w-40 recommendation for 392 HEMI

Hey folks, looking for a good recommendation for a 5w-40 oil. My local Pep Boys only has the Mobil 1 Diesel 5w-40 but no idea if that is different than a "non-diesel" one. I have a 2012 392 HEMI that calls for the 5w-40 so not really sure where to go for that and if there is a preferred brand. I...

Manual Tranny fluid for a 2010 Camaro Tremec6060

Looks like the manual states to use a Dexron III, have seen folks on other forums mention using Royal Purple but at $18 a quart was looking for a better option. I run the car pretty hard so I'm looking for something that holds up really well and helps smooth out the shifting.

Oil Recommendation for 2010 Camaro SS LS3

So.... not to re-ignite the thread, but it seems I would be fine going with the M1 5W30 that came in the car for daily driver type driving.

Oil Recommendation for 2010 Camaro SS LS3

The one follow-up question I have is whether or not I should make use of a different viscosity during the winter months as opposed to the summer months or if the Mobil 1 5w30 is a no brainer for year round use?

Oil Recommendation for 2010 Camaro SS LS3

Thanks everyone, I noticed there wasn't as much feedback on my 2009 Chrysler Town and Country recommendation request :-). Until I poked around in this forum I had NO IDEA just how involved one can get in oil choice but knowing the forum is here and available as a wealth of information with...

    Oil Recommendation for 2009 3.8L Chrysler T&C

Looking for a recommendation for a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country with the 3.8L V6 1. What kind of vehicle you have? 2009 Chrysler Town & Country with the 3.8L V6 2. What your owner's manual says -- not just viscosity, but certifications (look for acronyms like API SM, ILSAC GF-4, etc.) and...

Oil Recommendation for 2010 Camaro SS LS3

Looking for a recommendation for my LS3 Camaro, was planning on just staying with Mobile 1 like it came from the factory and probably Purolator PureOne filters 1. What kind of vehicle you have? 2010 Camaro 2SS LS3 2. What your owner's manual says -- not just viscosity, but certifications (look...
