Come on Chrysler, do whatever you need to do to bore and stroke the Hemi to 426!
I agree, though need...
Went to Advanced Auto Parts and they had Castrol Edge with SPT 5w40 on sale so I picked up enough for two oil changes. After rebates it comes out to about $5.80 per quart. Any reason not to go with the Castrol? I don't beat the living pi$$ out of the car on a daily basis but do like to get on it...

Thanks for all the input folks. I just double checked both the 2012 User's Guide and the Owner's Manual by downloading the latest version of both from the Dodge web site and the guide still shows 5w-40 and the manual 0w-40 so I am just going to probably go with what is available/on sale at the...
Nice and confusing messages from Chrysler.
The full color user guide for the car shows this;
API Certified SAE 5W-40 full synthetic engine oil, API Certified.
The Owner's Manual shows this; (which is in line with what you said addyguy)
6.4 Liter Engine (SAE 0W-40, Synthetic API Certified)...
Hey folks, looking for a good recommendation for a 5w-40 oil. My local Pep Boys only has the Mobil 1 Diesel 5w-40 but no idea if that is different than a "non-diesel" one. I have a 2012 392 HEMI that calls for the 5w-40 so not really sure where to go for that and if there is a preferred brand. I...
Looks like the manual states to use a Dexron III, have seen folks on other forums mention using Royal Purple but at $18 a quart was looking for a better option. I run the car pretty hard so I'm looking for something that holds up really well and helps smooth out the shifting.
The one follow-up question I have is whether or not I should make use of a different viscosity during the winter months as opposed to the summer months or if the Mobil 1 5w30 is a no brainer for year round use?
Thanks everyone, I noticed there wasn't as much feedback on my 2009 Chrysler Town and Country recommendation request :-).
Until I poked around in this forum I had NO IDEA just how involved one can get in oil choice but knowing the forum is here and available as a wealth of information with...
Looking for a recommendation for a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country with the 3.8L V6
1. What kind of vehicle you have?

2. What your owner's manual says -- not just viscosity, but certifications (look for acronyms like API SM, ILSAC GF-4, etc.) and...
Looking for a recommendation for my LS3 Camaro, was planning on just staying with Mobile 1 like it came from the factory and probably Purolator PureOne filters
