GTX does have a different smell than most motor oil.Syntec has the same smell.I wouldn't worry too much.

I drive a 2007 GMC Sierra 4.8l and live in Rochester,NY.In my stash are Mobil 1,Castrol Edge w/ Syntec and Castrol GTX,all in 5w-30.I'll probably only put on 5000mi between Oct and Apr.

What is everyones opinion of running syntec w/edge in the winter? I bought 2 5gal jugs at wm before the price increase.

I am fairly sure that Conoco Phillips manufacures Motorcraft oil.Would ther be any issues with running it in my 2007 GMC Sierra with the 4.8l? I am still under the powertrain warranty. Thanks for any replies!

I got two k&n oil filters for my 70 Cutlass :-)

I forgot to add that there should be a small wire harness tucked behind the trim piece.This is what the set of four buttons plugs into.

It's very simple,I did this on my 2007.The trim piece pulls right off,it is held in place by clips.Then you just have to transfer the headlight switch and reinstall.Should take a half hour max. Hope this helps!!
