I'm pretty happy with these numbers. I attribute the high TBN to the LC20. Only concern is the silicon. I did some work on the engine that involved R&R of the gear housing and I used silicone gasket maker during reassembly. I suspect either the gasket maker or the LC20 is causing the elevated silicon level since my bypass is very effective.

JohnStra,

This is an outstanding report! I just hope you didn't throw this oil away? We routinely run dino 15w-40 15,000 without a bypass or anything special in the 5.9L and get good reports.

what a great uoa!! would this be attributed to the oil, bypass filter, lc20 or combination of the three? would love to hear from some of the experts.

I'm still running with the same oil. I was hoping for 10k. If I can get 15k or more out of it I will. Only problem is I bought a case of Schaeffer 9000 for winter and now it looks like I'll just have to hold on to it

The truck had 148k miles on it when I bought it in July. I ran 2 ARX cleaning cycles before putting in the Premium Blue.

I'm inclined to attribute the good #s to both the bypass and the lc20. W/ a 12.5 TBN of 5000 miles, the lc is apparently maintaining very robust detergency levels in the oil and I think the bypass is helping keep insolubles low. An additional data point... I'm using LubeControl's fp60 in my fuel and I believe that is helping with soot control.

Thanks for the feedback!
