1. RWD

5. Track capable braking/handling
6. Summer tires
7. Xenon/LED headlamps
8. Well-bolstered, heated seats
9. Decent audio

Nice list of parameters. Porsche of some (sport) sort would likely do this...? Did you ever look and see how DEEP the front trunk is in a Porsche 911? Good utility (and factory-made roof racks, too smile )

The 2014 M235i in his sig does all the above, I think.

I only have 2: it should last 250k with little to no rebuild of transmission, engine, or anything costing more than 1500, and it should be at least 30mpg.

It'd be great if one single vehicle would do it all...or perhaps with a light utility trailer added. You could have it all in one vehicle, say a high perf 4 dr sport sedan with receptacle-type trailer hitch + high qual. roof rack with adapter fittings.

Glad not to see people demanding timing chains, not belts, and rear discs, not drums.

Because they don't know how to fix drums and the half-dozen supporting parts or change a rubber belt.

1. It must have 2/3 doors
2. must be performance or driver oriented
3. Preference of VIN to start with 1,2,4,5,6,7. K,J,and W would be a compromise, and L is a "Unless you are paying me, No Deal"

First consideration is price .

In addition , if my Wife is going to drive it ( and she will ) , it must have an automatic transmission , A/C , heat , PS & PB . And have sufficient room for 2 plump senior citizens .

Good MPG also helps . Which is one reason I have not purchased a pick up truck , yet . I still drive a company truck .

First of all -- I am 6ft 3in going 240 lbs -- I need comfort right from the get go. With my blood/sweat and tears going into payments; safety and quality are my first preference besides comfort.

Something that fits me with lots of leg room that will get me from point A to point B for no more than $30,000. There are plenty of vehicles that will get that job done.
