“New and Improved”

Here's the inside of the new and improved PH7317 from Fram. Manufacturing date is: A9221 1. The adbv doesn't fit snuggly on the cartridge, the the bypass does. Media seam seems messy but solid. Last picture is just a comparison to see how much more pressure a coil spring offers vs the leaf spring on keeping things tight in the filter itself. Thanks!

Thanks for c+p ............. imo the last pic doesn't demonstrate any difference in ability to keep things tight in filter - the coil just have a lower spring rate than the leaf so requires a larger deflection to achieve the same "pressure" to keep things "tight"

The ADBV doesn't really need to "fit tight" into the centertube hole as long as the leaf spring holds everything tight, which seals the end caps. Thanks for the dissection.
