Hey Guys i was just curious who uses BG motor oil additive, Any thoughts or opinions. its going to be the first time i use it.

Not much. Sounds like snake oil to me.
Distillates (petroleum), hydrotreated heavy paraffinic
This product contains less than 0.1% Benzine

No, honestly if you need a thicker oil use one. This looks to me like just another way to bump the viscosity at a very high price. JMHO
What do want/need to accomplish? If we know that you can get some good recommendations. thumbsup

Im just going to change with liquimoly LL 5W40 like i normally do im not going to put any additives in, Thanks Trav for the advice!

Good oil, it shouldn't need anything added to it if the engine is in reasonable shape. thumbsup

Somebody recently posted a UOA with it and as far as I could see it bumped up the Ca and Mo levels from the virgin oil. So some added detergency and AW protection??...I couldn't see (from the UOA) that a huge jump in the 100c kv above the virgin oil had occurred, unless it sheared over the oci which is possible but not desirable IMO. So from the UOA it's unclear to me at least if it's a VM.

Lacking a TDS, it just seems like an expensive clone of Rislone... which I will use on occasion.

The only additives i use are liqui moly mos2 and lubegard bio/tec .


2001 Mercury Cougar base 2.5l CD4E automatic.
