2004 Volvo S60R. I get a clunk or knock every time I let out the clutch or step on the clutch when in gear. No clunk in neutral. Thinking worn suspension or engine mounts. Started checking up top first and noticed the following. Is this normal play in these parts?
Engine/trans mounts on all FWD/AWD Volvo are very common.
IPD sells upgraded kits that are a more durable, but possibly harder rubber.
A possible downside is more NVH transferred to the interior (which is why Volvo chose a softer compound to begin with, but also means shorter lifespan of the mount).
EDIT: just saw the vids. Your best bet is to replace all the front end bushings associated with the drivetrain.
Fortunately IPD has packaged all the bushings into one package for those experiencing the same issueshttps://www.ipdusa.com/products/216...lder-p2-s60-s80-v70-xc70-xc90-5-cylinder
