Not sure if there was an earlier thread on this. I couldn't find anything.

Have you guys found store bought kimchi that's worth recommending?

I've tried a few different ones sold at local supermarkets, but they're not as tasty as what you get at some Korean restaurants.

Yes, there is one. Good suggestion. Thanks!

I'm a Kimchi fan as well. We recently purchased this brand at Publix. It's actually pretty decent...

Does it bubble out when you open the jar? Always heard that you have to throw a mammal in there to get the fermentation going. Love the stuff. Think I'll try an Asian market.

Yup. Already tried a few from Meijer and didn't care for any of them.

The last one literally exploded when I lifted the lid. Half the contents popped out of the jar on their own. Still, it didn't taste that great.

It was Mother-in-Law's Kimchi. I think MIL was trying to kill me.

Raided the local Asian grocery store yesterday and picked up a few. Can't wait to try them.

But the MIL one from Meijer's is growing on me... or maybe it's growing in the jar.
