I'm replacing the plastic clip that holds one of the rods to the latch that opens the tailgate (2006 GMC Sierra). Is there a secret to snapping it in without breaking it? I already sprayed some lube on it but it still won't snap in. I just don't want to break it.

Thanks in advance!!

i replaced several chinese tailgate handle assemblies on my 08 Colorado that was totaled. the handle assembly with the lock hole i did not need lasted the best. seen where newer GM trucks use the least amount of USA parts of any other brand pickup, only 40%!!!!

I'll have to remember that if she ever breaks it again. Thanks!

I thing that is what I have now.

Make sure the latches themselves are properly adjusted and lubricated, or you'll forever be breaking the handle trying to force them.
