Why did iron double? Everything else is great, and there is no reason to be concerned really.
Also, can I criticize the choice of oil here? Why use a synthetic blend when walmart sells Supertech dexos1 full syn for cheaper? Magnatec would be a step up, though it would require a big investment of $3 more per oil change.

Criticism is what this forum is partly about. We all don't agree on what to use or do.... Like when Pennzoil offers $10 mail-in rebates on Platinum full syn, it just doesn't get any cheaper than that for an all-Group3+ GTL oil from a great company. Mobil has rebates too, once in a while.

I guess people like ac-delco for GM engines, motorcraft for Fords, mopar for FCA, etc.....

Those syn-blend Group2-3 mixes seem really lame compared to the latest Mercedes, VW, & BMW oils. They have the toughest specs now for low-HTHS type 0w-20 & 0w-30 oils these days. I may have to start considering those myself.

I would say it is about discussion more than criticism. But nonetheless I'm pretty prone to do what I'm going to do... with little or no regard to others opinion

Thanks Adam, I'm not worried for sure... it'll be totally fine.

What will be gained by using a "synthetic" and we are talking about real world verifiable data over this mostly group III blend.

Here are some of the prior changes. (sorry the last change is included in the ALS report above, must not have had my glasses on.)

OMG -- another 0w-20 meltdown in progress!!! Seriously though, looks nice. But I'd join Johnny in noting the flashpoint question. It's not as if it's brimming with excess fuel -- or could Blackstone's methodology be masking some actual dilution?

Will the syn oil in this instance do a better job at keeping the parts sepsrated?
