HDEO = Diesel Oil. Rotella T6 5w-40 is popular for OPE applications. I run this in my generator and rototiller, but M1 10w-30 high mileage in the lawn tractor. The latter has a full pressure oil system and superior cooling. I wouldn't hesitate to run that Rotella T6 or similar in a lawn tractor.

@Astro_Guy Thank you.
I think if I "research" this any further I will enter a phase of analysis paralysis.
I can justify deciding upon M1 HM 10w-30
I could even make a case for AmazonBasics B07C5QWHN6 particularly if its HTHS became known.

I am going to go with M1 HM 10w-30
I feel this forum has supplied logic and numbers to back that decision as sane.
and
I have the company of those (such as yourself) who have blazed the way before me.
I am 100% certain M1 HM 10w-30 is not a "wrong" decision
and I extremely comfortable it is a valid one
I may even go so far as to claim it is the "right" one for me.

I have a few months before oil change day,
if it goes on rebate before then I'll pull the trigger that very day.
if it does not I shall pay full retail when that weekend arrives.

I think this has been a well discussed educational forum topic
possibly one that future oil neophytes such as myself
might stumble upon and benefit.

Thanks again.

Many folks use diesel oil in push mowers and riding mowers.
It's great oil for air cooled OPE engines. Many motorcycle owners
use Rotella 5W-40 with good results.

My 2¢

Your choice of M1 10w30 high mileage is a great choice, no real down side other than cost compared to a HDEO 10W30. No issues with storing the remaining oil for top off or for the next change.

I'll give a shout out for Amsoil ASE 10w30 small engine oil currently running in my KT series since new 3 years old yearly oci. Some pretty robust specs.
NOACK : 4.0
HTHS. : 3.3
FLASH : 475F

The Amazon Basics manufacture has sent me PDS
for both the DEXOS & the Full Syn High Mileage
I am attaching what then sent just to complete this forum topic.

If you're interested in synthetic 40's, both Mobil and castrol offer hm 10W-40 variants of Mobil 1 and edge, respectively. Not saying they're better or worse than anything else mentioned, just another option.
