A great point and part of the reason that I have a wide variety of pistol (and rifle) calibers. I've stocked up in each over the past few years. Ammo won't be cheap forever....

If you're looking for a cheap used gun then 40 is the way to go. Gun people are as faddish as car people and fashion models, so there are tons of 40s gathering dust on the used shelves.

I sold all my 40 caliber guns years ago. I do have a 40 caliber barrel for my 357 Sig Glock, if I ever want to shoot the load, which is rare.
