Prob have to take it to a shop now cos I can't remove the o clamp from the bottom of the radiator to really pull the fluid thats in the torque converter and etc.

I replaced the gasket just in case. So hopefully if there was a leak thru the gasket, it won't be doing that anymore.

How often do you recommend I change the ATF in general?

I'm def gonna buy the drain pain with a plug. Makes a fluid change so much easier.

Appreciate everyone's input. You guys are awesome.
What a great forum Bob created!

Great!

Once you get the new pan, you should do multiple drain-and fills, with some driving in between. The amount of driving can be anywhere from around the block to 5000 miles. Usually, 3-4 drains will be enough to get all the old stop leak out.

After this whole fiasco is corrected, you can probably get away with 30k, but of course, you can do it more frequently since the drain plug will make it very easy!

Most cars never have their transmission fluid changed and go to the junkyard on the factory fill

Say no to stop leaks and to part store advice!
