Credit: Voltstats.net for providing the tracking and chart
I'd say so far I'm getting my money's worth out of it! I purchased the car 3/13 but I didn't get Onstar and Voltstats set up right away, so ignore the March readings. And May isn't quite done, those numbers will come down after my Memorial Day road trip this weekend that will be run 99% on gasoline.
I've never really kept track of my driving habits or yearly mileage totals, it's always just been a car. I keep track of oil changes, that's it. It's been kind of neat seeing my driving habits. I haven't been driving the car purely for efficiency, either. I love putting it in sport mode and zooming around town with it. 276 lb. ft. of torque available from 0 RPM in a small hatchback is quite the experience!
Just to give a quick glossary for the abbreviations that aren't obvious:
EV MPVDD: Average electric miles traveled per vehicle driven day. Only days when the car is used contribute to this average, it's not aggregate over the entire month
Total MPVDD: Average total miles traveled per vehicle driven day. Same as above applies.
MPG(CS) Miles per gallon while running in "Charge Sustaining" mode (a.k.a. any time the gasoline engine is being used to propel the vehicle, either after the HV battery is depleted or the Hold drive mode is selected, which sustains whatever state of charge was available when Hold was selected).
